On Monday the JZD girls were up early and with coffee in hand we left Clapham Old Town behind us and headed to Pure London in Olympia.
Sam lead the way with her lucky buying notebook under one arm and we set out, eyes peeled for a day of scouting out new labels and eyeing up fresh designs.
In case you’re wondering what we’re talking about Pure is a huge bi-annual fashion trade show. Showcasing over 800 brands and stores over three days in all aspects of fashion from women’s wear to shoes galore and accessories. Buyers internationally flock to hunt down the next best thing. You want it they’ve got it!
On arrival you could feel the buzz as we sashayed up the bright pink carpet and into the throng…
With hundreds of stalls to look at we had our work cut out…!
A sea of stalls in front of us we headed to accessories to see if we could find some goodies, and when I say goodies, I mean bags!
Having stopped of at one of our favourite suppliers Kris Anna to stock up on new colours and styles we stumbled across a new brand we just couldn’t resist.

A luxury handcrafted range of leather bags in sensational shades and texture. It was love at first sight. Expect these gorgeous little numbers to be in store soon! (We predict a stampede.)
When it comes to JZD we like to keep one step ahead and so when we came across out next fabulous find we thought what better way to brighten up those winter evenings drawing ever closer …with a zesty pineapple clutch of course! Who could resist.
We even scooped up some great little pieces with Christmas in mind! Christmas is now well and truly catered for with some fantastic finds…
We're got you covered this christmas.
On our way to shoes we swiped up some great new jewellery. It’s all about the cocktail ring this season and we discovered some show stoppers. While playing how many rings can you fit on one hand…!

Popping along to our friends at Cara London it was time to think shoes. With their stall looking so good it wasn't hard to be inspired! And believe us they’ve got it covered…

JZD's in love… More sparkles in life please!
Among all the new style and label stalking and having lusted after shoes our own feet were beginning to tire. We managed to take five to regroup and of course fit in a delicious lunch!
Lunch time pause. Oh so good!
JZD girls are foodies at the best of times, so our peach rocket and chutney tart with Mediterranean salad really hit the spot. Fuelled up and ready to go again we spotted a great new label to introduce in store. Watch out for the amazing Spanish ‘Alpe’ footwear with a sporty feel heading to Clapham soon!
Alpe meatallic trainers coming soon!

Then it was all cylinders go and onto some serious women’s wear scouting. With so many stalls to choose from it was a matter of where to begin! With styles catching our eye from all directions it proved a challenge not to get distracted by gorgeous pieces!

Sam doing what she does best!
Watch this space and look out for new labels in store from September!
All in all it was a hugely successful and inspirational day at Pure London – great new brands and a view of whats to come next season. What more could we have asked for.
Hear Sam’s thoughts on Pure and buying for JZD here:
“Visiting Pure each season is essential it works to find new brands and give a strong overview of trends, colours and shapes that are going to be key for the next season.
I find its a great place to source Christmas gifts for JZD such as, the wild and wonderful ‘fur clutch’ bags Sherene Melinda. We all loved the vivid colours, giving our store a real point of difference, unique and exclusive.
It was a real bonus going with Nikki & Lucinda who hunted out some great new brand opportunities!”
…Until next year Pure!
Nothing beats a wardrobe cleanse, we say make the time to do it this season. Free up space, ditch the unloved fashion items, say good-bye to old worn out garments, ditch the old faded out bra’s, saggy tights, lonely socks and don’t forget the shoe/boots section. Dresses that just don’t flatter, we say no thanks, not in my wardrobe. JZD advice, not worn in last 2 years then your probably never going to wear it again, it’s time to take control of what’s in your draws. Ditch the clothes that just don’t fit, or have gigantic stains, don’t keep them clogging up your wardrobe!
Divide up the unwanted clothes into two sections, worn out clothes get bundled up and recycled, good quality and clean clothes donate to charity. If you have any unwanted designer clothes please try and give them to an upmarket charity shop such as Mary Porters Living & Giving, the funds go to Save the Children, so your giving your unwanted clothes to a really good cause.
Spend time folding and organising your keepers, buy some nice hangers to organise your new wardrobe, mismatched hangers are so messy! Organise your wardrobe into everyday casual or work-wear depending on your life style. Everyday clothes are best kept together, evening and going out garments separately, if you have space. Heavy coats are best boxed up over the summer.
Tips on a tidy wardrobe: draw dividers are useful to keep your bras, knickers, socks and tights apart. A well-placed shoe rack can give you more room for your shoes, keeping your pairs together. Box up your winter styles when the weather gets warmer, making space for your summer wardrobe, switching over is a great time to ditch the unworn clothes.
Small boxes are great for organising delicate jewellery or follow our in store idea and convert an old wooden frame with screw hocks and hang your necklaces.
1- Make a date to cleans your wardrobe
2- Follow our advice to ditch the old clothes
3- Love and organise your keepers
4- Enjoy making a list to fill the gaps to replenish your wardrobe
5- Next only buy what you love, make your wardrobe work for you
6- Congratulate your self on a job well done!
Make time to clean up your wardrobe, it will help make you a much better shopper as you know what you need to complete an outfit. It makes buying that new top or jeans more fun.
Love your style
